Tea of the month: rooibos, also known as redbush
We all indulged in chocolate over the Easter break - and loved it. But getting back to a wellness lifestyle after overindulging is often hard. We think our naturally sweet redbush tea will help you kick start the healthy diet. This month, enjoy 20% off this herbal infusion, a great combination of health and flavour.
A little bit about our tea of the month
Rooibos is a South African wonder herb that is actually a member of the legume family (the flowering plant family which also include beans and peas). The leaves go through the process of oxidation, which produces the distinctive reddish-brown colour of rooibos and enhances the taste. Sometimes called red tea, rooibos offers a smooth, earthy, rich infusion similar to black tea and coffee. Due to this depth of flavour and body, the slightly sweet tea can combine well with milk. If you're looking to cut out coffee, or just take a break from it for a while, rooibos makes a popular caffeine-free alternative. It is a great tea for any time of the day, and is suitable for all family members.
Packed with health benefits
Aside from the fact rooibos is caffeine-free, this infusion is also high in antioxidants and rich in vitamin C, which promote health inside and out. Research shows it can be used to treat a wide range of symptoms ranging from headaches, colic, asthma, hay fever, skin conditions, stress and insomnia. Overall, it naturally boosts energy and health.
