Almost 100 years ago The Smoky Negroni cocktail came to life in Florence, Italy. The story goes that the first Negroni was made for a guy named Count Camillo Negroni. The bartender who made the cocktail was asked by the Count to strengthen his Americano cocktail by adding gin instead of soda water. It was this that brought the Negroni as we know it to life.
