The rooibos plant is endemic to a small part of the western coast of the Western Cape province of South Africa. This woody and nutty South African wonder herb offers a great combination of flavour and vitality. Also known as Red Bush or Rooibosch, our Rooibos tea is enjoyed as an alternative to black tea and is caffeine free! You can drink it as it comes or add milk and sugar or even a slice of lemon and honey.

What are the health benefits of Rooibos? Rooibos leaves have a high concentration of vitamin C, are caffeine free and are naturally high in antioxidants. They offer endless health benefits including helping the symptoms of headaches, insomnia, asthma, eczema, bone weakness, hypertension, allergies, and premature ageing. Win win!

Fun fact: The leaves are green but turn red as part of the oxidation process which also enhances its nutty, smoky flavour. 

Ingredients: Each box contains 15 biodegradable whole-leaf tea bags.

How to make the perfect cup of Rooibos tea

Step 1: Use one tea bag per cup.

Step 2: Use freshly drawn boiled water. Like black tea, Rooibos leaves can take the full heat!

Step 3: Avoid oversteeping, we recommend 90 seconds. Taste it and then decide if you’d like to steep a little longer.

Step 4: Add milk, sugar, lemon, honey or simply enjoy as it is

Storage instructions: Keep away from moisture (until it lands in your cup!) We recommend you store your rooibos tea in an opaque, airtight container. It might look pretty in glass, but the light damages the tea leaves and subsequent taste. Nooooooo!
